Updated: Mar 2

I didn’t meet Ankit & Angel until this shoot. We had only exchanged email’s back and forth. I believe that by putting myself out there, they got a chance to get to know me a little bit and see my work. By the time we met in person, it was like we already knew each other! What Is A Pre-Wedding Photoshoot?

A pre-wedding photoshoot is a photo session that takes place about 1-2 months before your wedding. It’s an opportunity for us to try some poses, talk about what you want to do for your wedding and for you and your fiancé to get comfortable in front of the camera.

Wedding photos always tend to look better when a couple does a pre-wedding session. Whether it’s because we’re more acquainted with one another or you know what to expect from a photo session, it’s something I highly recommend.

Why Choose Central Park, Manhattan for a Pre-Wedding Shoot

Central Park, located in the heart of Manhattan, is a dream destination for couples seeking a fairytale-like pre-wedding shoot. With its breathtaking beauty and iconic landmarks, this urban oasis offers the perfect backdrop for capturing intimate and romantic moments. Here are a few reasons why you should consider Central Park for your pre-wedding shoot.

From vibrant cherry blossom trees to tranquil lakes, every corner of the park exudes natural beauty. You can stroll hand-in-hand with your partner, basking in the enchanting atmosphere that only Central Park can provide.

2. Iconic Landmarks: The park is home to several iconic landmarks that add a touch of grandeur to your pre-wedding shoot. The Bethesda Terrace and Fountain, with its majestic architecture and romantic ambiance, provide the perfect setting for capturing timeless portraits. Bow Bridge, Belvedere Castle, and the Literary Walk are other notable locations that offer stunning visuals.

3. Diverse Settings: Whether you envision a classic, rustic, or whimsical vibe for your pre-wedding shoot, Central Park has it all. The park's diverse landscape allows you to choose from various settings that align with your vision. What to Wear and How to Prepare for a Pre-Wedding Shoot

Choosing the right attire and preparing for your pre-wedding shoot in Central Park can greatly enhance the outcome of your photographs. Here are some tips to help you prepare:

1. Coordinate Outfits: Coordinate your outfits with your partner to create a cohesive and visually appealing look. Choose colors that complement each other and the natural surroundings of Central Park. Consider the overall aesthetic you want to achieve, whether it's classic, bohemian, or modern.

2. Dress Comfortably: While it's essential to look stylish, comfort should not be compromised. Opt for outfits that allow you to move freely and feel at ease during the shoot. You want to be able to fully enjoy the experience without any restrictions.

3. Consider the Season: Take into account the season when planning your attire. Dress in layers during colder months and opt for breathable fabrics during warmer months. Be prepared for changes in weather and bring accessories like scarves or umbrellas if needed.

4. Hair and Makeup: Consider hiring a professional hair and makeup artist to ensure you look your best on camera. They will know how to enhance your features while keeping the overall look natural and fresh.

5. Time Management: Allow ample time for hair, makeup, and outfit changes when planning your shoot. Factor in travel time, especially if you have multiple locations within Central Park. It's better to have extra time than to feel rushed during your shoot.

6. Bring Essentials: Pack a small bag with essentials such as touch-up makeup, hair accessories, and comfortable shoes for walking between locations. Stay hydrated and bring snacks to keep your energy levels up throughout the shoot.

Why Should I Get Pre-Wedding Photos?

Truthfully, feeling comfortable in front of the camera is one of the biggest reasons I recommend doing a pre-wedding photoshoot. Because unless you’re a professional model or actor, it’s unlikely that you’ve had a lot of experience in front of a camera. And even then, it’s different when it’s you're having your wedding photos taken.
